Episode Eighteen—In Between: No B/S moments in this episode and much of it was Brennan and Jesse flashing back to previous episodes while Shalimar and Lexa hunted after the bad guy. The only time they were together even remotely was at the end. The beginning scene was very disappointing and shows the lack of continuity between the writers. It could easily have been a scene from season one, did not fit into the rest of the episode or season at all, and did not fit into the current state of the B/S relationship. With that said, I’ll transcribe it so you can come up with your own opinion! Jesse and Brennan walk out of a bar. Jesse: “I don’t know man, I think you’re losing it. That girl barely even knew you were there.” Brennan: “What are you even talking about right now? She had her eyes all over me.” Jesse: “Oh, does that explain that warm reception you got when you asked for her number, huh?” Brennan: “I hate to break it to you, but in some countries, it’s considered an engagement when you get slapped.” Jesse: “Ah. Where’s Shalimar and Lexa?” Brennan: “I don’t know, getting rid of some dudes?” A group of bikers hanging out outside slowly begin to surround them and pick a fight. Jesse and Brennan fight them and easily win. As they begin to fight, Shalimar and Lexa come out of the bar and see them. Lexa: “Leave them alone for two minutes.” They grin at each other, laughing as they watch the fight. Shalimar hears a noise and looks over her shoulder. Shalimar: “Guys! Gun behind you!” Jesse masses in front of Brennan, but the bullet phases and hits him. Lexa brings in a Dominion doctor who is a telepath who calms Jesse down while she tries to work on him. Brennan stays with Jesse to help and Shalimar and Lexa work to find the shooter and meet his ransom demands. Eventually they find out he is a Genomex scientist in love with a podded mutant he wants them to find. They finally find her, only to discover that she’s dead. They track and catch the bad guy. Meanwhile, the doctor uses her powers to connect Brennan to Jesse’s mind and Brennan helps and encourages Jesse to fit to live. In the end, Brennan and the doctor are able to talk Jesse into masses his body around the bullet, allowing the doctor to remove it surgically and put it in a force field right before it explodes. The end scene has all four of them sitting in the rec room. Jesse is sitting in a wheelchair, Lexa on the couch, and Brennan is sitting in a chair, with Shalimar sitting on the arm of the chair. Jesse: “Guys, thank you. I wouldn’t be here without you.” Lexa; “Nah, it was no big deal.” Jesse: “Yeah.” Stares directly at Lexa. “You’re the reason I wanted to live. That is a big deal.” The camera cuts to Bren and Shal. Shalimar’s eyes dart between Jesse and Lexa as she smiles knowingly. Shalimar, under her breath: “Uh-huh.” At the same time, Brennan stares at Jesse with a growing smile: “What?” Brennan and Shalimar turn and grin at each other, and then Brennan nudges Shalimar with his shoulder as he turns to Lexa and raises his eyebrows up at her. Shalimar nudges Brennan back with her shoulder, still grinning. She turns to Jesse. Shalimar: “So did you have any other near death revelations?” Jesse laughs. Lexa: “Well, I did.” She walks over to Jesse and puts her hands on his shoulders, leaning down to talk into his ear. “You put us through that again, I’ll kill you myself.” They both laugh as she walks away. Shalimar walks over and kisses Jesse on the cheek and also walks away. Brennaan starts to rise to follow after her, but Jesse stops him. Jesse: “Brennan?” Brennan: “What’s up?” Jesse: “You risked your life for me.” Brennan: “You took a bullet for me.” Jesse: “Yeah, but I didn’t know it would hurt.” Brennan, laughing: “Oh man, you’re a big wuss. I’m sure you would have done it anyway.” He walks over and they shake hands. Jesse: “Anytime.” Brennan goes to fake punch Jesse, Jesse cringes and then they both laugh as Brennan walks away. Jesse leans his head back, looking thoughtful. The End!

Thanks! ;D I never even thought to question if Jesse was referring to Lexa or to the whole team?! It was so obviously Lexa, I mean he was staring right at her!! And why else would Brennan respond with a startled, "What?!" if Jesse was talking to all of them. That wouldn't make sense! Brennan wouldn't question Jesse saying he was thinking of them, but he would be surprised by Jesse saying that about Lexa! And while this wasn't my favorite episode because of the lack of B/S interaction, I did love this end scene, and I loved Jesse in this episode as well!

Wow this is really nice of you to do for people who still haven't seen season 3 loveconquers. I was a little sad that there hasn't been much B/S moments in the last couple of episodes, but they have had a lot of jesse so that's good. He is a cool character and he deserves some time to shine .

Hi guys! This is a long one because there were just so many moments to capture!! So here you go!
Episode Nineteen: Dream Lover:
Shalimar stands in front of her mirror in her bedroom, fiddling with putting a hat on. Off-screen, Brennan calls to her.
Brennan: “Shal, come on! What are you doing?” He walks to her open door. “The movie starts in like an hour, we’re going to miss the previews again.”
Shalimar, laughing: “Would you keep your pants on? We have plenty of time.”
Brennan: “What?”
Shalimar Grabs her coat and walks through the door, laughing. Very happy: “Better yet, take those off.”
Brennan, teasing: “You ain’t ready.” Claps hands as he follows after her down the hallway, “Come on.” Shalimar giggles.
The computer beeps, indicating an incoming call as they walk past it.
Brennan: “Come on.”
Shalimar, hesitating: “Hold on, hold on.”
Brennan, holding out an arm across her waist as she turns around, pleading: “Voicemail, voicemail.”
Shalimar, laughing, dodges his arm: “Hold on, hold on.” Runs over and picks up the call. It’s her friend Gia calling from a club asking Shal to come meet her. Shal is instantly concerned, but Brennan is in the background, looking at his watch, sighing. The call is abruptly cut off.
Shalimar: “That’s weird, why would she just hang up like that.”
Brennan: “Well, maybe her dealer finally came through, come on.”
Shalimar: “Come on, Brennan. You heard her, she sounded really freaked out.”
Brennan: “Shal, how many times are you going to let her drag you down this road? Alright? I know ferals are tight…”
Shalimar: “It’s not like that.”
Brennan: “Well, if it’s so important, she’s going to call back, right? Come on.” He claps his hands and smiles. “Movies. Previews. Come on!” He starts to run down the hallway, turning back toward her. “Come on!”
Shalimar: “I guess so.” She gives the computer a final glance and then runs after Brennan, giggling as he waits for her at the end of the hallway, gesturing to her to hurry.
Meanwhile, at the club, the bad guys knock out Gia and clone her.
Back at Sanctuary, Lexa is tanning in a tanning booth. Jesse interrupts her and asks her to get the dominion to get a new processor for the helix. Lexa asks him what’s in it for her, and they banter back and forth…very cute!
Shalimar and Brennan call for Jesse as they walk back into Sanctuary.
Jesse: “So, how was the movie?”
Brennan, looking a bit cranky: “I’ll tell you when I actually get a chance to see it.”
Shalimar asks Jesse to run a trace on Gia’s call.
Shalimar, worried: “I thought she was going to call back, but she didn’t. I have no way of getting ahold of her.”
Brennan: “Shal, seriously, I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about. Besides you know how Gia always flakes out on you.”
Shalimar: “Bren, will you stop it, please.”
Brennan sighs.
Jesse starts the search as Shal walks off.
At the club, Gia’s clone is being manufactured to fit a client’s desires. At sanctuary, Shalimar and Lexa talk, and Shalimar tells her how her and Gia used to be friends before she joined MX. Jesse finally gets the call traced and tells them it came from a club, and pulls up the website for the club. Shalimar goes to the club and finds Gia, who shows no signs of recognizing her. The bad guys see Shalimar talking and realize she is a friend of the real Gia.
At Sanctuary, Lexa is having computer problems, and Jesse asks what she’ll do for him if he helps her, they tease back and forth again. Shalimar walks in and tells them about Gia not recognizing her and asks Jesse to search for the guy Gia left the club with. Jesse finds him and Brennan and Shalimar go to a condo he just leased out. They walk down the hallway of the condo and hear a man’s cries. They break down the door to find the man dressed in woman’s lingerie and Gia dressed up in a super hero’s cape. He thinks they are trying to collect more money and tells them Gia is his to do whatever he wants with. The cloned Gia suddenly kills him and jumps out the window. She liquefies and then reforms and walks away. They look out the window to see her missing.
At the club, the bad guys playback the scene from the clone’s retina’s and recognize Shalimar.
Back at Sanctuary, Brennan and Shalimar walk back in from outside.
Shalimar: “I know it sounds crazy to you, but everyone has their own distinctive scent and that wasn’t Gia.”
Brennan: “Well, maybe she changed her perfume.”
Shalimar, sarcastically, “Yeah, Brennan, that must be it.”
Brennan, chuckling, “What?”
Shalimar: “Look, I don’t know why I didn’t pick up on it at the club, but there were so many people around.”
Brennan; “Alright, alright. Let’s just say that wasn’t Gia.”
Shalimar: “It wasn’t. And whatever she was, she wasn’t human.”
Jesse and Lexa are now with them as well. Jesse tells them he can’t find any information on the guy Gia was with. Shalimar and Lexa decide to go undercover in the club. They are both mad that women are being used at such a club, and that such a club exists. They go to the club and get hired on.
Jesse is playing with the club’s website trying to get more information. He learns about a back room called the Platinum Lounge, where clients can find “the perfect woman.”
Brennan and Lexa talk via comlink and Brennan tells her to watch out for this back lounge. Jesse warns her to stick together with Shal until they find out what’s going on.
A client singles out Shalimar to go to the back room with him. They try to convince him to take both of them, but he only wants Shal. Shal whispers to Lexa that she’ll be alright. The bad guys takes Lexa aside while the client takes Shalimar to the back room. At Sanctuary, the guys get tired of waiting and Brennan decides to go in. Jesse sets him up as a client on the website.
At the club, Shalimar is surrounded and fights until they knock her out with a taser. The bad guys clone her, including her personality and memories.
Jesse and Lexa talk via comlink and Jesse tells her he discovers the guy running the club is ex-Genomex. Cloned Shal comes out of the backroom and tells Lexa that the client changed his mind and wants her instead. Lexa goes into the backroom and gets ambushed as well.
Brennan walks into the club. He tells the owner he’s interested in Shal. The owner tells him all he has to do is ask.
Cloned Shal smiles at Brennan as he pretends to single her out.
Brennan: “Hi.”
Cloned Shalimar: ‘Hi.”
Brennan: “How you doing?”
Cloned Shalimar: “I’m good.” She walks up to him and pushes him down into a chair and leans into his chest provocatively. She starts to unbutton his shirt. He motions as if to stop her, but she whispers: “Just play along, because I have a lot to fill you in on.” She leans in closer, almost kissing him and smiles.
Brennan, suggestively: “Really?”
Cloned Shal then leans over and kisses his ear, stroking his cheek. Brennan grins, looking almost embarrassed for a second as she nuzzles his ear. They both smile as he looks up at the club owner: “I’m asking.”
Club owner: “Why don’t you take him to the lounge.”
Cloned Shal leads him away.
In the basement of the club, the real Shalimar wakes up to find herself in a wheelchair with drugs being administered through an IV. She sees Gia next to her. A nurse sees her awake and increases the IV. Shalimar managed to unplug the IV as the nurse walks away, then falls unconscious again.
The club owners receive a call from the nurse that she’s overdosed and they walk into the basement to see her lying on the floor. She opens her eyes briefly to show us she’s faking.

Part 2: Meanwhile, Brennan is sitting in a hot tub in the platinum lounge. Cloned Shal walks in and hands him a drink. Brennan looks uncomfortable the entire time, frowning as he studies Shal.
Cloned Shalimar: “They’ve got cameras all over the place, so do your best to keep up appearances.”
Brennan continues to watch her, frowning slightly.
Cloned Shal: “What’s wrong?”
Brennan, unsure: “Why don’t you tell me?”
Cloned Shal: “I think they’ve taken Lexa.”
Brennan: “How long has it been since you’ve seen her?”
Cloned Shal: “Just before you got here, she was nosing around in the back.”
The scene cuts to Sanctuary, where cloned Lexa walks in as Jesse looks up in surprise. He asks her what she’s doing there and she tells him Bren and Shal have it under control. She slips off her coat and flirts with him. He is confused, albeit pleasantly surprised. They kiss, and she leads him back to the couch, where they kiss some more.
Back at the club, Brennan and cloned Shal continue to talk.
Brennan: “Do you have any idea where they may have taken Lexa?”
Cloned Shal, sets down her glass and kneels down on her hands and knees, crawling towards Brennan: “I don’t know, I only left her alone for a minute. But this place goes on forever, she could be in any one of these rooms.”
Brennan nods as his eyes stare at her again, almost frowning.
Cloned Shal: “Why are you looking at me like that?”
Brennan, carefully: “Like what?”
Cloned Shal: “Like you don’t even know me. Brennan, I’m not the enemy here.”
Brennan looks down.
Cloned Shal: “There’s one more thing I have to tell you.”
Brennan: “What?”
Cloned Shal: “You’re about to die.” She shoves him under the water with one hand.
At Sanctuary, Lexa stands up and suddenly shoots her lasers at Jesse. He masses and realizes she’s a clone. Jesse runs away from Lexa, calling to Brennan via comlink that they’ve been cloned. He realizes they can be stopped with electricity and tells Brennan that as he is meanwhile struggling under water. He gets above water long enough to hear Jesse before being pushed back under.
Meanwhile, the real Shalimar knocks out the bad guy and runs down the hallway.
At Sanctuary, Jesse cuts the lights and leads Lexa into the lab.
At the club, the real Shalimar sees her clone drowning Brennan.
Shalimar: “Let him go!”
Cloned Shalimar glares at her and stands up. Brennan pops his head out of the water, gasping. Cloned Shalimar walks over to real Shalimar.
Shalimar: “Shame to mess up that pretty face.”
Cloned Shal: “What’s a girl to do?”
Cloned Shal and real Shal start to fight.
At Sanctuary, Lexa walks into the lab and Jesse electrocutes her with the CPR paddles. He calls Brennan from the helix.
Brennan meanwhile is desperately trying to dry himself off. Jesse tells him to kill the clone with electricity. Brennan exclaims that he’s soaking wet and tries even faster to dry himself off as the two Shalimars are fighting in front of him. He throws on a robe.
Brennan: “Shalimar!” He forms a tesla coil, stopping as he realizes he’s not sure who is who.
The two Shalimars call to him for help.
Shalimar: “Brennan, get her, it’s me!”
Cloned Shal: “She’s lying!”
Shalimar: “Brennan, do it now!”
Brennan stares at both of them.
Cloned Shal starts to attack Shalimar again, but Brennan shoots her with electricity, and she melts into a puddle of goo.
Brennan blows out a breath, “Whoo.”
Shalimar: “How did you know it was me?”
Brennan, smiling as he walks towards her: “I figured I had a 50/50 chance.”
Shalimar stares at him, looking offended.
Brennan chuckles: “Oh come on, I’m not going to get you confused with some cheap imitation? What are you talking about?” Shalimar smiles and puts her hands on his chest. Brennan smiling down at her: “Come on.”
He starts to put his arm around her, but she suddenly freezes, hearing someone coming. She gestures to Brennan and he runs off. The bad guys enter and they fight, realizing the so-called club owner is actually a clone as well. They go back downstairs.
Meanwhile Jesse has broken into the club and found Lexa. He starts to free her, when the other black guy stops him with a gun. Bren and Shal walk in and they talk for a few minutes and then Brenan shoots him with electricity. Shalimar gets Gia and they talk. Shalimar tells her it will be ok.
Back at Sanctuary, Jesse asks Lexa how she’s feeling. She laments how she slept through all the fun, and Jesse teases her. She asks if she behaved herself, and he tells her she was good, really good. Lexa scoffs, and then he compliments a hidden tattoo. She follows after him, demanding he tell her everything.
Brennan sits at the computer, smiling as they walk by him. Shalimar walks into the room.
Shalimar: “Hey there.”
Brennan: “Hey, where you been?”
Shalimar: “I set Gia up with a place to stay. Gave her some cash until she found a job.”
Brennan; “Shal, I just—“
Shalimar: “Look, I know what you’re going to say. I know I’m not a super-hero. I can’t save everyone.
Brennan: “No, no. Actually, I was going to say that I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have assumed anything about your friend. People can change. And I just hope she keeps her act together.”
Shalimar: “Yeah, me too. God it just makes me sick, a place like Nero’s even exists today.”
Brennan: “Yeah, well, it’s man’s pursuit of the perfect woman. It’s been going on since the beginning of time.”
Shalimar: “Yeah, well, man should get over his damn self. Women are perfect just the way they are.” She walks off.
Brennan smiles slightly as he stares after her and nods: “Yeah.”
The End!

Hello again! This is another long one, there were just so many important aspects to this episode! So here you go! Episode Twenty—The Prophecy:
(My thoughts: This episode is written on the presupposition that Bren and Shal are both in love and both in denial. This is the episode that makes them come to terms with their feelings for each other and admit the truth in their own hearts. The writers are portraying Brennan being in love with Shalimar, but being in denial about it. His way of fighting it is to look for distractions with any other woman he gets involved with. He’s not actively looking, but he will exploit any attraction he runs into. Almost like he’s in denial with himself and going to great lengths to try to prove something to himself, causing him to exploit every opportunity. With that said, it appears there is true attraction and affection between Brennan and Riley. Something could have developed between them, and Riley tries hard to get him, but in the end, they both realize his heart is already taken. So while I hate seeing Brennan with another woman, and I personally feel that both Bren and Shal should be way beyond this point in their relationship, this was actually a very good episode in the overall development of their relationship. Rather ironic episode in the fact that even though there weren’t really any direct Bren/Shal moments, there were a lot of extremely revealing Bren/Shal realizations. This episode is a huge advancement for them.)
The scene opens with the camera panning the halls of a psych ward. A mutant in a straight jacket suddenly gasps and mutters, “It begins.”
In sanctuary, Brennan is in his room working out when his phone rings. He answers it to be told by a frantic man calling from a phone booth that the prophecy begins. Brennan traces the call on his computer as he hears the man screaming. In the phone booth, the man is being killed by some kind of monster.
Brennan and Shaliimar trace the call to a phone booth in an alley.
Shalimar: “How’d this guy find your number?”
Brennan: “I don’t know. There’s been far too much of that happening lately. I think we need an answering service.”
Shalimar, chuckling: “Yeah, like what, Mutant X can’t come to the phone right now, we’re busy saving the world, again?”
Brennan, chuckling: “Yeah, something like that.”
They approach the phone booth and see it destroyed.
Brennan: “Well, I guess it wasn’t a crank call.”
Shalimar: “Definitely found our phone.”
Brennan: “Now where’s our caller?”
Brennan, peering at the booth: “What is this stuff? Some sort of acid?”
Shalimar sensing and hearing movement behind them suddenly drops and with a sweep kick, knocks Brennan down, just in time to save him from a stream of acid thrown at him by the monster. They dunk behind a dumpster just as a woman, named Riley, comes down the alley and shoots a psionic blast at him, chasing him away. She comes back, tell them they should leave. When they don’t respond, she replies, “Hello? Ken, Barbie, chop-chop.” Brennan says he’s not leaving until they figure out who made the call, and Shalimar draws his attention to the side of the building where a man is dead, stuck to the wall in a mass of slime. As Shalimar collects a sample of the slime, Brennan asks the woman what her part in all of this is. She tells him she’s a bounty hunter after the thing that attacked them, and that his name is the Guardian. She in turn asks Brennan what his part in all of this is.
Riley: “And don’t bother lying, I’ll know.” She places her index finger on Brennan’s forehead and it glows orange.
Shalimar leaps down from where she had been examining the body.
Shalimar: “You an empath?”
Riley, barely sparing Shal a glance: “Telepath.”
Shalimar, sarcastic: “Good for you.”
They exchange catty smiles. Brennan glances between the two with a slight smile.
Brennan: “Well there’s really not a whole lot to tell. Got a phone call from this guy, said his name’s Nathan, and there’s some prophecy I’m a part of.”
Riley: “Did he say anything else? Details.”
Brennan: “Mostly I just heard him screaming. So if I’m involved in this, and you’re going after that killer, than I’m going with you.”
Riley: “Oh really? Because I must have missed the part where I invited you.”
Shalimar: “Guess we could just go find him ourselves…but then you’d risk us finding him first.” She smiles a bit arrogantly.
Riley narrows her eyes at Shalimar before turning to Brennan with a seductive tone, leaning in close: “Alright. You can tag along. But the feral goes home.”
Shalimar smiles, chuckling knowingly, convinced Brennan will never go along with it.
Brennan: “Deal.”
Shalimar’s smile freezes, as she blinks in shock and disbelief. Riley smirks at her over Brennan’s shoulder before walking away. Brennan turns briefly back to Shalimar.
Brennan, nodding at her as she stares at him: “It’s cool.”
They walk away.
In Sanctuary, Jesse and Lexa are playing chess. Lexa is impatient over how long Jesse is playing. He tells her you can tell a lot about a person’s romantic style by the way they play games. They talk suggestively about moving fast or slow, and then Lexa wins the game. Shalimar comes striding in, tossing a vial to Jesse and telling him he needs to analyze it. Lexa asks her where Brennan is.
Shalimar: “Hell if I know. Ran into a bounty hunter and he took off with her to find the killer. I was cordially dis-invited.”
Jesse begins to analyze while Lexa follows after Shalimar and finds her angrily hitting a punching bag.
Lexa: “So, how hot is she?”
Shalimar: “Who?”
Lexa, whistling: “That hot, huh? Look, Shal, speaking as a friend…”
Shalimar pauses and huffs at her.
Lexa: “Ok, fine. Speaking as me, You’ve really got to clear up your Brennan issues.”
Shalimar keeps punching. “What are you talking about?”
Lexa: “I’m talking about every time he gets near another girl, your hackles go up.”
Shalimar, pausing: “Ok first, you’re way off. And second, you are way off. We’re like family.” She starts viscously punching the bag again.
Lexa: Yeah, well I hope you like it that way. Because until you get honest with yourself and Brennan, that’s all you two will ever be.”
Shalimar stops and stares at her.
Lexa: “And you know what, Shal. He has every right to keep looking.” She walks away as Shalimar frowns and then starts punching again.

Part two: Brenan and Riley wait in a car in an alley, looking for a girl named Kara, who she thinks is the next victim. She tells Brennan that the woman’s dealer will know where she is, and that understanding people’s weaknesses is half her job. (Here we have a subtle undertone that she understands Brennan’s weakness is woman, and she knows how to best use it to her advantage.)
In Sanctuary, Jesse tells Lexa and Shalimar that the Guardian is transgenic hybrid similar to a feral, but that he’s arachnid-based and that is mucus is viscous cement, and that he would not think or act like a normal person.
Back in the car, Riley spots Kara’s drug dealer and tells Brennan to wait while she talks to him. She tells him he doesn’t know how to handle it and that he could learn from watching her. She chases the dealer and Brennan follows. She is surrounded by other men.
In Sanctuary, they discover the Guardian is connected to the links and to Gabriel Ashlocke. They find he is tied to a precog mutant locked in an asylum.
Riley fights the men as Brennan stands and watches, since she told them he had a lot to learn. They banter sarcastically while she fights the last guy. They question the dealer to find Kara’s whereabouts. They are told she hangs out at a local bar.
The dealer runs away, only to be captured by the guardian who also asks where Kara is.
Jesse and Shalimar sneak into the pysch ward to find the mutant drugged up and mumbling. He suddenly rolls over and says Shalimar’s name, saying, “I told you that you’d come back.” She says she doesn’t know him, and he gasps, saying, “We’re still back at the beginning?” He starts mumbling again, and Shalimar records him via her comlink.
Brennan and Riley wait in a bar, flirting. Riley tells him they have to blend in and sits sideways in the booth, putting her legs across his lap. They talk about how she became a bounty hunter and she tells him it’s the perfect job for a psionic. He jokes no one could lie to her and she says someone once did. She says she can feel Brennan has trust issues and she can feel his doubt about her. She kisses him. Brennan tells her he can tell she’s hiding something and is afraid he will find out what it is. She looks at him reflectively.
Jesse, Shalimar, and Lexa play with the recording mumbling and hear a message: “From the blood of four will come our son, once all signs pass, if the links remain, the heart of Ashlocke will live again.”
Shalimar sneaks back into the pysch ward to talk more with the precog.
Meanwhile, Jesse and Lexa talk back at Sanctuary.
Lexa: “I’m telling you, there is something going on between them.”
Jesse: “Between Brennan and Shalimar? Are you mental?”
Lexa: “Yes.”
Jesse: “They’ve always been like that.”
Lexa: “Please. She has no perspective with him. Every impulse is on a ten.”
Jesse: “She’s a feral, she’s just marking her territory.”
Lexa: “Oh my God. She gets any more territorial with Brennan, she’ll have to pee on his leg.”
Jesse stares at her with grimace.
Lexa: “Let’s pretend I never said that.”
Jesse: “Yeah. Already trying.”
They continue to speak, theorizing that it would be hard to live and work with someone you had a relationship with, that it would be risky. Lexa tells him someone has to make the first move. They banter until get interrupted with a computer search on Riley and see that she’s a member of the link.
In the psych ward Shalimar asks what the prophecy means. He tells her the child is Ashlocke’s second coming and that with the child, the links will shape a new world. When Shalimar grabs his hand, he goes into a trance and speaks: “A child will be born, but for our hold to last, all four signs must come to pass. The moon will fall, two bloods will be dashed, the child will choose, and the mountain will crash.” Shalimar asks what the child has to be with Brennan and he laughs hysterically. “Haven’t you guessed yet?”
In the bar, Brennan and Riley are slow-dancing, waiting for Kara to show. They banter and she tries to read his mind. He pretends to be upset and sits on a stool. She straddles his lap and asks for forgiveness. “Pretty please, with me on top.” She reads Brennan’s mind and tells him she’s going to get some ice to cool down from his thoughts. Jesse and Lexa comlink in and tell him she’s a member of the links. Riley comes back and instantly knows that he knows. (Up to this point, there is a sexual attaction between them But this seems to be a turning point where Brennan stops flirting with her.) She suddenly sees Kara and runs after her. Brennan follows. Kara is killed by the Guardian. Brennan zaps him with electricity, but Riley stops him, telling him he’s their only path to the child. Brennan asks what child and she reveals the prophecy tells of a child that will be Ashlocke’s second coming and that he is their son. They return to the bar and she tells him many of the links were Genomex people and knew how to create him by collecting the DNA of four mutants. She reveals that the man who once lied and betrayed her was Ashlocke. She says she must make amends for her link days by protecting the child from the links, to keep them from corrupting him. She tells him about the four signs and they realize two have already passed.
In the pysch ward, the precog tells Shalimar he knew she would come. She tries to ask him what they last two signs mean, and he tells her she is railing against that which cannot be stopped. To prove he’s right, he tells her where to find the Guardian, but tells her they can’t stop him. He asks her if she wants to know how she dies or how Brennan dies, but she walks away. He yells after her that she will come back wanting to know.
Jesse and Lexa tell Brennan where to find the Guardian. And they debate about Mutant children. Lexa says mutants should never have children, that it’s usually biological disasters. Jesse disagrees with her, and they debate.
Brennan and Riley battle the guardian who appears with the child. The child watches for a moment before raising his hands and knocking them down, then disappears with the Guardian.
Jesse and Lexa continue their debate on whether or not mutants should procreate while they search for the mountain mentioned in the prophecy where the child is supposed to be at. Jesse tells her, “I happen to think if there were a hundred little baby Lexa’s running out there around the world who would grow up to be like you, I happen to think the world would be a better place. A frustrating, pig-headed…beautiful place.” She is touched and tells him that sometimes he says exactly the right thing. They find the mountain and Riley and Brennan head out there. Brennan calls to Shalimar.
Brennan: “Shal, where you at?”
Shalimar: “In the helix, not far from you.”
Brenann: “Alright. I’m having a feeling we’re going to be very outnumbered. So you got my back?”
Shalimar, smiles ruefully: “Always.”
Brennan stops walking for a moment to smile at her words.
Riley: “So it’s her.”
Brennan: “Who?”
Riley: “The woman whose fingerprints I feel all over your heart.”
Brennan.”Huh, I have no idea what you’re talking about. Besides, didn’t I tell you to stay out of my head?”
Riley: “Oh, that’s not psionic, honey. That was just female intuition.”
Brennan. “Yeah, female intuition.”
Riley: “Well, I hope she’s not in as much denial as you are.”
Brennan: “Huh.” He changes the subject, asking her how Ashlocke fooled her. She tells him he charmed her. Members of the link come out of caves in the mountain to attack them just as Shalimar arrives to help. Part of the roof of the caves collapse, and when it settles, Riley is gone. Brennan and Shalimar continue after the Guardian while Jesse searches for a way to kill him.
Riley finds the child and connects telepathically with him. Brennan and Shalimar find them. Brennan tries to stop him, and she tells him the child isn’t evil and that he can be trusted. She tells him the third sign was the child will choose, and that he didn’t choose the guardian, but he chose to let her and Brennan live. She tells Brennan she wants to go on the run with the child to protect him from the links. The child grabs Brennan’s hand, and Riley asks him to come with them. Brennan looks back at Shalimar and then looks back at Riley and says he can’t. He kneels down and places his hand on the child as they connect telepathically. After a moment, Brennan stands and tells Riley to go and take the boy. Shalimar senses the Guardian approaching and Riley grabs Brennan thankfully and kisses him good-bye. He kisses her back and then she and the boy run off. Jesse tells them how to kill the Guardian and Brennan and Shalimar kill him. “So much for the prophecy,” Brennan scoffs.
Shalimar goes back to the pysch ward and tells the precog he was wrong, that the prophecy was false. He baits her and Shalimar asks him to tell her how it will end, and what will happen to them. She grabs his hand and he again goes into a trance, saying: “Four will begin. True love will call. One will betray, and one will fall.”
Shalimar: “Fall? What do you mean fall? Do you mean die?”
The precog laughs. She grabs him, but he shots her with a telepathic beam. She falls to the ground, writhing in pain. He leans over her and tells her not to fight it, that she and her friends can’t hide from fate, that it’s already found them. She asks him if they can stop it, and he replies: “So I have seen, so it shall be.” She yells for him to tell her, just as he had earlier predicted she would, and she looks to the ground in shock as he walks away, laughing hysterically.
The End!

I saw this episode and i have to agree with what you wrote in the "My Thoughts" part. You hit it right on the nail lol. I thought it was a good episode despite the lack of actual Bren/Shal interaction. It basically let us know what we all wanted to be sure off, that Brennan and Shalimar love each other and don't just see each other as "family" like they claim too. I think we needed an episode like this. Come on Lexa and even Riley could see it.

I too have to agree with your thought on this episode. A lot of the Shalimar and Brennen issues were dealt with, if not directly. I mean they never talked about it or anything, but they both made huge steps. They admitted their feelings to themselves. So hopefully the rest will move along quite quickly. I mean we have already waited almost three years. On another note, I really loved the Jesse and Lexa interaction in this episode. I loved their debate on ‘couples’ getting together, their views on mutants having children, and on the speed, or lack there, involved with romantic moves. All in all this was a great episode, although the actual prophecy at the end, about someone falling, kind of scared me. Can’t wait for the next episode, I bet there will be movement in the relationship categories! ;D
